A Message from FCTA President Amber Chandler

As educators, we’ve been scrutinized for the ills of a whole society for so long that many have become discouraged. It is critical that we remember our objective is to educate students to be contributing citizens while spreading compassion, empathy, and values that sustain the human spirit. It is a privilege to be entrusted with such great responsibility, and we must guard against those who would minimize the impact even one educator can have on the life of a student. As we stand united in our efforts, remember Eleanor Roosevelt’s words, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Alone, we may be relatively weak, but collectively, we have the power to protect the profession, as well as the people who benefit from our dedication.
